Traffic School Information



You may be eligible for traffic school if you have not attended traffic school for a violation that occurred within the last 18 months. To sign up for traffic school, you must pay your bail plus an administrative fee of$52.00 , either by mail, in person, or by using this system. If you successfully complete traffic school by the due date, your citation will be reported to DMV and will not appear on your driving record.

Upon payment, you will be given 60 days to complete traffic schoolIf you fail to submit proof by the due date, a conviction may be reported to the DMV, and a point will be added to your driving record.

You are not eligible for traffic school if you are charged with an alcohol or drug related offense. You are also not eligible for traffic school if you are charged with a two-point violation. For more information, you may speak with a clerk.

For a list of approved online traffic schools, go to the DMV's web site at www.dmv.ca.gov. The school will charge a separate fee that is in addition to the amount paid to the court.

Note that holders of commercial drivers licenses are prohibited from attending traffic school, pursuant to Vehicle Code Section 42005, even if driving a non-commercial vehicle at the time of the violation.
